Durbin Statement on Sinema-Tillis Immigration Deal

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee and author of the Dream Act, released the following statement regarding the reported immigration deal reached between Senators Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Thom Tillis (R-NC): 

“As the author of the original Dream Act more than 20 years ago, I applaud every good faith effort to give these deserving individuals a path to citizenship.  I’ve been in touch with my colleagues and will carefully review their proposal.”

“I am determined to do everything in my power to help deliver a Christmas Miracle for Dreamers.”
