Feinstein, Harris, Introduce Resolution Condemning Anti-Semitic Attack at the Chabad of Poway

Washington — Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala D. Harris (both D-Calif.) on Wednesday introduced a resolution condemning the recent anti-Semitic attack on worshippers at the Chabad of Poway.

The resolution also honors the memory of Lori Gilbert Kaye, who was killed in the attack, expresses hope for a full recovery for the three congregants who were injured, and recognizes the first responders and law enforcement officials who rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

“Hate has no place in our country. Our resolution condemns the anti-Semitic attack on Congregation Chabad and reaffirms our nation’s values of openness and tolerance so all Americans can worship freely without fear of violence,” said Feinstein.

“As we honor those who were killed and injured in the horrific shooting at the Chabad of Poway, we must also be absolutely clear about the fact that anti-Semitism is real in this country—and we must continue to speak out against it wherever it occurs,” said Harris. “The rising threat of white nationalism and white supremacy is in direct contradiction with the highest ideals of our country, and I urge my colleagues to join me in supporting this resolution to condemn this despicable hate.”
