Feinstein on Passing of Justice Stevens

Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the death of former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens:

            “My thoughts are with the family and friends of Justice John Paul Stevens.

            “Justice Stevens was an iconic figure on the Supreme Court for 35 years and one of the longest serving justices ever. He was a tireless advocate for civil liberties, women’s reproductive rights and the rights of criminal defendants.

            “Justice Stevens was a model to all of those who follow the Supreme Court and love and respect the Constitution. We will miss his candor, his civility and, above all, his dedication to our nation.”
