Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the Trump administration’s rule to prohibit medical providers who provide women with the full-range of reproductive health care from Title X federal family planning funding.
“This is an effort by the Trump administration to deny women the ability to see health care providers they know and trust. The administration’s goal is clear: force Planned Parenthood to close its doors.
“President Trump’s new rule undermines health care for nearly 4 million Americans and would result in Planned Parenthood losing more than $60 million in federal family planning funds. These funds ensure that low-income patients in California and the rest of the country have access to essential reproductive health care and family planning services. This includes wellness exams, cancer screenings, testing for sexually transmitted diseases, and birth control and education.”
“Planned Parenthood has been a trusted health care provider for millions of patients for more than a century. The constant attacks from Republicans are disgraceful and I will continue to fight against them.”
