Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today issued the following statement in response to a federal restraining order barring the publication of 3D gun plans online:
“It’s good news that a federal judge has temporarily blocked the online publication of 3D gun designs. I applaud the state attorneys general who are working to keep these plans out of the hands of dangerous individuals.
“The Trump administration should never have allowed the publication of these plans in the first place, especially after it previously determined that they violated U.S. law.
“This is yet another example of President Trump putting political interests ahead of the safety of our communities.
“3D gun designs endanger all of us because they allow any person to make weapons at home. Criminals and terrorists could easily obtain these plans and fabricate untraceable guns.
“I strongly support both the 3D Gun Safety Act and the Untraceable Firearm Act. Congress must act now before tragedy strikes.”
