Feinstein Statement on American Media Inc. Implicating Trump Campaign in Felony

Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on the Southern District of New York’s non-prosecution agreement with American Media Inc., the publisher of the National Enquirer:

“AMI, the publisher of the National Enquirer, admitted that it facilitated a $150,000 payment—in coordination with the Trump campaign—to boost his electoral chances by covering up his alleged affairs.

“Evidence continues to build that President Trump directed a violation of campaign finance law to affect the presidential election. These are serious, criminal allegations and they demand further scrutiny from Congress.”
