Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) released the following statement on the withdrawal of three nominees for federal judgeships:
“Matt Petersen is clearly not qualified to be a federal judge. There’s no room for on-the-job training on the D.C. district court, which hears some of the most high-profile cases in the country.
“Three Trump judicial nominees are now reported to have withdrawn over the past week. This is a clear signal that the White House isn’t properly vetting nominees but instead counting on Senate Republicans to jam them through with minimal review.
“I hope the White House and Senate Republicans learn a lesson from this and change how they’re handling judicial nominations.”
