WASHINGTON?– The American Bar Association (ABA) has rated Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett as “well qualified,” based on her integrity, professional competence and judicial temperament.
In a letter yesterday to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) and Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein (D-California), the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary provided their rating of Judge Barrett. A “substantial majority” of the committee determined that Judge Barrett is “well qualified,” with a minority of the committee rating her as “qualified.”
Senate Democrats have previously called the ABA’s “the gold standard by which judicial candidates are judges.”
