Graham, Grassley Lead Senate Judiciary Committee GOP Letter To FBI Requesting Unredacted Document On Biden Tape Allegations

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member, and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), senior Senate Judiciary Committee member, today led all committee Republicans in sending a letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) regarding the Bureau’s possession of a document containing allegations of corruption against the Biden family.

Senator Grassley and House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) wrote to the FBI in May after a whistleblower alerted them to this document, also known as an FD-1023 form. At a committee meeting last week, Ranking Member Graham said the Justice Department and FBI should answer the committee’s questions about these allegations.

The Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans wrote:

“The FBI’s continued efforts to hide relevant facts from Congress and the American people, as well as its failure to describe any investigative steps taken, will not repair its tarnished reputation.  It will do the exact opposite.  The allegations contained in the FD-1023 raise serious concerns.  As Ranking Member Graham noted, we as a Committee ‘have an obligation to answer these questions.’ Unfortunately, the FBI’s conduct to this point has not allowed us to do so.”

They continued:

“In light of the continued failure to transparently address the unclassified FD-1023, we are requesting that the FBI immediately produce an unredacted version directly to the Senate Judiciary Committee and describe, in detail, the steps it has taken to investigate all allegations in the document including whether it is within the scope of U.S. Attorney David Weiss’s review.”
